What farmers say

“I'm very pleased with the ram I purchased from Josh. A hardy sheep — he served a batch of hogget ewes at a high-altitude farm, held his condition well, and the lambs are growing well: easy lambed and hardy, thriving up here in the Wicklow hills.”

Robert Langrell — Co. Wicklow

“I purchased a ram lamb from Josh in 2025. He served a small batch of 27 of my ewes which scanned at 1.96 and only 2% mortality which points to an easy lambing ram. Very happy with his offspring which are growing at 300g per day on average over the first 40 days.

For anyone interested in the Easycare breed and wants to purchase from a man that has figures to back up his sheep then Josh is the man to talk to.”

John Byrne — Co. Wexford

“I first came across Josh through the Easycare Sheep Ireland discussion group. We met in person about a year later at Campbell Tweeds' open night, where I recognised him and went over to welcome him to our part of the country.

Since then, Josh has been my first port of call whenever I've had any trouble recording my flock. He always sorts it out straight away — when I found something complicated, he went out of his way to make a video and send it to me. I count him as one of the most genuine and honourable men I know, and a true friend.

I purchased a ram from Josh last year, which speaks to the confidence I have in his flock. Despite only being at it a few years, he has been deliberate and exacting in his selection — sourcing from some of the best genetics in Ireland, rigorously recording data, and consistently pushing on the traits that matter. I have no doubt he will be one of Ireland's top breeders in the years to come.”

Ivan Davidson — Co. Armagh
